Terms of Service

The plain rules for using AussieBill.

By sending us a bill or using this site, you're agreeing to these terms. They're short on purpose.

Last updated 16 May 2026.

Who we are

AussieBill is a personal project operated by Molly Wang in Australia. Throughout these terms, “we” means Molly, and “you” means the person sending us a bill or visiting the site.

What we do

When you send us a utility bill, we read it, compare the rates and usage against other plans available in your area, and email you a one-page report with what we found. That’s the service.

Not financial advice

The report is general information based on the bill you sent us and the public market offers we could find at the time. It’s not personal financial advice and isn’t a recommendation to switch providers. Use it as a starting point, not a decision.

Energy plans, pricing and discounts change often. We do our best to be accurate but we can’t guarantee a quoted offer will still be available when you go to sign up — always confirm with the retailer before switching.

What we need from you

What we can’t promise

We may decline to audit a bill — for instance, if we can’t read it, if the retailer isn’t in our coverage area yet, or if it’s not a category we handle yet. We’ll tell you if that’s the case.

To the extent allowed by Australian law, the service is provided “as is” without warranties. We’re not liable for any losses arising from decisions you make based on the report. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can’t lawfully be excluded.

Pricing

AussieBill is free while we’re in beta. If that changes, we’ll say so on the site before we charge anyone.

Content and brand

The AussieBill name, logo, copy, and site design are owned by Molly Wang. Please don’t copy them. The bill you send us stays yours — see the Privacy page for how we handle it.

Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves. The version dated at the top of this page is the one that applies.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
