What we do with your bill.
Short version: we use the bill you send to write your audit report, and that's it. No selling, no onsell to retailers, no marketing list.

Who we are
AussieBill is a personal project operated by Molly Wang in Australia. It’s currently in beta. You can reach Molly anytime at [email protected].
What we collect
- Your bill. The PDF, image, or forwarded email you send us — and the information inside it (your name, address, account number, usage and rates).
- Your email address. So we can send your report back to you.
- Basic site analytics. Pages visited, buttons clicked, rough location and device. We use PostHog for this. It helps us understand what’s working and what isn’t.
What we use it for
- Reading your bill and comparing it to other plans available in your area.
- Writing the one-page email report and sending it to you.
- Replying if you have a follow-up question.
That’s the whole list. We don’t add you to a marketing newsletter, we don’t pass your details to energy retailers, and we don’t use your bill to train any third-party AI models.
Where it lives
Bills are stored in Cloudflare R2. Metadata and reports live in a managed MongoDB database. Outgoing email is sent through Amazon SES. These providers process your data on our behalf and don’t use it for their own purposes.
How long we keep it
We keep your bill and report so we can answer any follow-ups and improve the service over time. If you’d like everything deleted, email [email protected] and we’ll remove it — usually the same day, always within a week.
Cookies
We use a small number of first-party cookies for analytics (PostHog). No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers.
Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we’ll sort it out. If you’re ever unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can also take it up with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes
If we change anything material, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. The current version is the one that applies.
